"Walk And Talks" Will Be Your New Favorite Cardio Workout
We'd like to offer one of the newest and most exciting methods to have fun while staying physically healthy with you. Your new favourite cardio workout will be "walk and chats." Isn't it all you need to get started?
It's a great opportunity to get in your daily steps and relieve stress
We chatted with Tim Liu, C.S.C.S., an online fitness and nutrition coach and member of the Eat This, Not That! Medical Expert Board, on the numerous health benefits of walking with a friend, loved one, or partner.
Most Americans walk between 3,000 and 4,000 steps per day on a daily basis. Working your way up to 10,000 steps per day is a great idea, and "walk and talks" are an excellent approach to achieve that objective.
You'll burn more calories by incorporating hills into your routine
Liu offers some practical advice on how to plan your walk and discussion. Make a short path for a mini-workout first. Determine how much time it will take you to walk a loop in your neighbourhood or local community.
"You can burn more calories when walking by ramping up your pace, going up a hill, or using light hand weights as you move," says one expert.
Choosing a walking buddy who shares the same fitness goals is key
Next, Liu proposes inviting a friend who shares your fitness goals to join in the fun. Each time you go, you'll be ready to raise the difficulty by adding more steps and hills.
Wear a good pair of walking shoes
One last piece of advice from Liu? For a long walk, it's critical to put on the proper footwear. The improper sports shoe, according to Livestrong, might cause injuries, making your walking and fitness journey more difficult.
